How to get here… by car

FROM WALTHAMSTOW approx 75 miles - click here for Google maps suggested routes. Danny prefers A12, A102 (via Blackwalll Tunnel), A2 (at Darenth Interchange exit for M25, signs to Gatwick), at M25 junction 5 keep in right hand lanes - taking the A21 all the way to Hastings.
Coming into Hastings you'll pass a Sainsburys, Lidl, a fire station, Travelodge, leisure centre, museum. Turn right here (onto Falaise Rd) at the signs for seafront and White Rock theatre. Over the brow and down, turning left at the junction and then right at the bottom (you can't miss the pier!). Turn left onto the seafront road called White Rock. We're just a few hundred yards on the left by the red pillar post box, before the next traffic lights, directly opposite a white Art Deco building, called The Source (underground BMX/skateboard park). No 27 is in a run of shops. There’s a buzzer, choose Flat 2.

When you first arrive at the flat

  • CHECK THE BOILER’S ON - it’s in the landing cupboard outside flat 2, there’s a door with our deckchairs and BOILER - check the BOILER is switched ON at the white wall switch marked BOILER in pencil below the boiler

  • For CENTRAL HEATING (SCROLL TO BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE) although on sunny days (even in winter) the flat can get very toasty so you may not need it

  • we keep the FRIDGE on

When you leave. Please…

  • close all windows, blinds and doors (in case of fire). The biggest windows are very heavy and ideally need two people to close - so stick to using the side windows where possible. DON’T push on the stuck-on glazing bars, they’ll fall off :( If in doubt, let us know and we’ll pop in to close them tightly when you’ve left

  • strip beds for us to wash after you leave - but if you do wash your own please hang out to dry on the clothes horse (no need to worry about ironing it!)

  • empty the kitchen bin unless it's just a few dry, non-smelly things - like teabags and paper. There’s a litter bin in the street for small amounts or use the bin store (beside the main entrance door) for larger bags

  • take home or throw away any spare food/drink from the fridge

  • if you remember you can switch off the boiler unless we’ve suggested otherwise
